A setback in the overcursed basement today. This morning’s inspection revealed water all up in the trenches from yesterday’s 13 hour rain event and effort exposed a sewer line blockage (likely from flash flooding last year) in the backyard that took several hours and $500 extra dollars to clear. The house pooped for the first time in months and is now resting comfortably, if stinkily.
Tomorrow work will resume bright and early with the removing of all the old plumbing and installation of all the new pipes. Tomorrow, we may be able to flush the toilet for the first time since November 4th.
My shipment of winter teas arrived yesterday and I’m having a cup irresponsibly late in the day because sitting by myself in a cold house without indoor plumbing for 8 hours a day is starting to bum me out. Very happy to have use of this cute lil south city flat for the week.
